An Explanation Is In Order

03:57:29 pm, Categories: Home and House

I do not normally wear my heart on my sleeve, but an explanation for the intermittent publication of this daily blog is required.

No doubt most of you will be aware of the trouble that is ongoing in Kenya. I originate from there and unfortunatley a large number of my immediate family still live there.

Clearly in the circumstances I am unable to keep my eye on the ball as well as I would like - hence the intermittent postings to this blog.

Bear with me and as things return to normal and as soon as I can ascertain the safety of my family I will recommence this blog on a more regular schedule.

In the meantime do look in from time to time because I will keep posting as and when I can.

Thank you all - ed

Ebay truly is the world’s largest garage sale

Since you don’t need a large investment and you can start off by selling your old junk and then perhaps things you buy at closeout sales their is no risk.

You can list an item for sale on Ebay in less then 15 Minutes. At the close of auction after you have been paid You can then go to a package stores like ‘the UPS Store’ or ‘Fedex Kinkos’ and they will pack and Ship the item for you.

As you get more sophisticated you can use a drop shipper. You just Fax or e-mail them your customer information and they do all the shipping.

10 - Legacy

As your children get older they can follow your example and have their own Ebay Business. Wouldn’t it be better to start them in an Ebay Business of their own and allow them to keep some of the money as an Allowance and put the rest in a college fund or house Down Payment Fund.

11 - A Bonus reason - Money - Extra Money wasn’t that why we started this business to begin with ?

Find Your Perfect Golf Club Grip

06:02:41 pm, Categories: Leisure

Rika Susan

So you want to be one of those super swing machines? Your golf club grip can make or break your game. Get back to basics on the driving range and take some time to find the perfect fit for you. The flight of the ball is directly related to the way you place your hands on the club. What are the most popular golf grips?

1. The Baseball Golf Grip

Although not preferred by instructors, the Baseball or Ten Finger technique is the most natural one to use when taking up golfing. It doesn’t involve interlocked fingers and is a simple hand over hand method. If you are right handed, this hand will normally be placed at the bottom. The little finger of the right hand is placed close against the index finger of the left hand. Reverse the process if you are left handed. Over the years a number of PGA Tour members have used this style with great success. Players with smallish hands or joint ailments will find this golf grip to be effective.

2. The Vardon Golf Club Grip

This one, also called the Overlapping golf grip, carries the name of the inimitable Harry Vardon. This six time winner of the British Open Championships used it to great effect. Assuming that you are right handed, this hand will be at the bottom. This trailing hand’s little finger lays snugly over and between the index finger and middle finger of the top or left hand, also referred to as the lead hand. The thumb of the top hand finds a place along the lifeline of the bottom or trailing hand. This is perhaps the style that is most commonly used. It is ideal for players with large hands.

3. The Interlocking Golf Grip

This is similar to the Vardon, but here the little finger of the trailing hand interlocks with the index finger of the top hand. The thumbs form a ‘V’ shape which should point in the direction of your right shoulder. Interlocking is usually suitable if the golfer has medium-sized hands or weak forearms and wrists. Make sure that you can see the first two knuckles of the left hand.

There you have the three basic techniques. You have to experiment on the driving range until you find the golf club grip that works best for you. Generally speaking, your control will be better if you use one of the interlocking styles. The Baseball is less effective in this regard and will in a sense disturb the balance. One hand will always be more powerful in this case - a scenario that is likely to be detrimental to your game.

Remember to be relaxed when it comes to this aspect of your game. Too much tension will be counter productive. Tension problems are usually more advanced on the right side. Make sure that you keep this at a medium level. Aim for around 5 to 6 on a scale of 10. Too tight a hold will result in loss of distance.

Check your hands often to make sure that you haven’t changed their position inadvertently. The wrists should always function as a unit.

While talking about your grip: Don’t forget to pay attention to the grips you use on your clubs. Many players pay more attention to golf cart accessories than to these small necessities. While you can get by with a used golf cart, you can’t afford to skimp on this little item. Your set has to be perfect for you and must be kept in sound condition.

These small golf grip details can spell the difference between a nightmarish experience on the course, or a confidence-building success-story.

Shopping In Italy - A Wonderful Adventure

01:30:19 am, Categories: Leisure

Michael Thomson

Italy’s hottest shopping draw is of course fashion. Milan is home of the country’s fashion industry, but Rome is the main Italian bazaar where the threads are put on the market. Here you can find the ultra chic garments of celebrated designers numbering in the hundreds. Quality is very high and the range of materials includes leather, cotton, silk and wool.

Other than garments, Italy is pre-eminent in the production of quality glassware, furniture, jewellery and porcelain goods.

Shopping In Rome

While Rome is overrun with international fashion boutiques, shopping in the Eternal City can still offer its own very Roman flavour. For the ultimate in windows shopping, the area around via Condotti at the foot of the Spanish Steps is the place to go. You can gaze at the creations of Armani, Prada, Versace, Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci and the other grand names in the elegant windows under the baroque or neoclassical facades. But remember that rents in Rome are sky high and so are the prices.

For antiques, head to Via dei Coronari. It’s a narrow pedestrianised street near Piazza Navona. The 500-meter long thoroughfare is lined with antique stores and galleries.

For the true Roman experience, you have to visit one of the city’s many markets. The Sunday morning flea market at Porta Portese is an overcrowded event where you can buy almost anything. It’s held on via Portuense south of the Porta Portese gate. Beware of pickpockets.

From Monday to Saturday, the morning market is in via Sannio, just outside the Roman walls by San Giovanni in Laterano. Here you can browse huge volumes of cheap clothes.

Shopping In Venice

Venice has long been a place of trade and remains a busy retail center. Though the big name fashion houses are well-represented, the joy of shopping in Venice lies in hunting down those local novelty items that evoke the spirit of La Serenissima.

However if it’s brand name fashions you’re after, Venice won’t disappoint. The island’s busiest shopping strip is the Merceri. It runs all the ways from the Piazza to the Rialto Bridge and almost all the celebrated Italian labels have boutiques here.

For other items, Calle della Mandola is the place to browse books and glass beads. And Campo Santo Stefano is the square for antique hunting. However, you can’t leave Venice without getting a souvenir carnival mask.

Carnival is the great event held every February but the masks are manufactured as souvenirs all year-round in Venice’s small workshops. You can get everything from full size porcelain masks with a hefty price tag to inexpensive ornaments such as silver earrings in the shape of carnival masks.

The other great specialty of Venice is glassware from the island of Murano. These include such items as vases, clocks and wine bottle caps. And you can also get decorative items such as rings, bracelets or pendants made out of the delightful colored glass. These can be very inexpensive and make great souvenirs of Venice. Other delights special to Venice include porcelain dolls and Burano lace work.
